Hip Hop Turns 50!

Hip hop, the cultural movement that started in the Bronx, New York by DJ Kool Herc, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this August. This genre has influenced music, fashion, art, and politics around the world. To honor some of the greatest hip hop artists of all time, J.J.L. Candle Co. has created a collection of candles inspired by their lyrics and styles.

The collection includes candles such as "Bamboo Earrings," which pays tribute to LL Cool J's hit song of the same name. This candle features a sensual scent of bamboo and coconut.

The "It Was All a Dream" candle is inspired by the Notorious B.I.G.'s classic song "Juicy." The candle has a sweet and fruity fragrance comprised of guava, passion fruit, and peach.

Another candle is "Some Say the Blacker the Berry the Sweeter the Juice," which takes its name from a line in Tupac's song "Keep Ya Head Up." The candle has a rich and tart-sweet scent with notes of blackberry and sage.

These candles are not only a tribute to the legacy of hip hop but also a celebration of the diverse and complex stories that this genre represents. From the poetic storytelling of Tupac to the raw energy of LL Cool J and the smooth flow of Notorious B.I.G., each candle captures a different aspect of hip hop culture.

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip hop, it is important to remember the impact that this culture has had on our society. From social justice movements to pop culture, hip hop has influenced and inspired people around the world. These candles are just one example of how hip hop continues to shape our creative landscape and inspire new generations of artists and entrepreneurs.
